What is terroir? Terroir is a French term that basically translates to “a sense of place.” Wines will have a distinct flavor based on where the grapes are grown. We will discuss the climate, soils, terrain, variety, etc. of each region we source grapes. We will taste red wines from the Russian River Valley, Santa Cruz Mountains, Chalone, Santa Lucia Highlands, Arroyo Grande Valley, and the Santa Rita Hills. Very educational and fun!
