2018 Cuvée Los Gatos Rob’s Red Blend
Central Coast AVA

Tasting Notes
“Deep red hue. Aromas of blackberry jam, oak spice, bacon, boysenberry, plum, cassis, and cocoa unite in this bold red blend. Upon taste, these elements persist and segue towards lush tannins and modest acidity. This wine finishes with freshness and abundance. Enjoy now through 2032.”

“This Bordeaux-style blend is more serious than the name suggests, offering concentrated black fruit, hefty tannins and a full body. Aged more than four years in 20% new French oak, the wine consists of 56% cabernet sauvignon, 12% cabernet franc, 11% petit verdot, 11% malbec and 10% merlot. Sustainable. Drink now or hold.”

Past Vintage Wine Scores
Central Coast
Our Rob’s Red is named after our founder and proprietor Rob Jensen. It’s a Bordeaux blend from vineyards in the Central Coast AVA, primarily the Santa Cruz Mountains. The blend of this wine changes every vintage, but it remains a perennial favorite among our wine club members. It was actually inspired by Robert Mondavi who was a big influence to Rob and Diana Jensen during Testarossa Winery’s early days.

“Vibrant ruby color; lush blackberry nose; smooth, dense and fresh with spice and deep earthy notes; silky and rich, luscious and showing great finesse; long and balanced.”
“Bright ruby. Displays smoke- and spice-accented red currant and cherry aromas, along with hints of pipe tobacco and candied flowers. Smooth and open-knit, offering gently sweet red fruit flavors that deepen and take a darker turn to cassis and licorice on the back half. Supple tannins shape the floral-tinged finish, which lingers with very good tenacity.”
