“Gold-flecked yellow straw. Sourced from several vineyards in the northern part of the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA, this is a well balanced Chardonnay with ripe but not overripe stone fruit and hints of mandarin and vanilla. The mouth feel is sensuous with natural acidity complementing and contrasting with the fruit. Aged 14 months in French oak, 13% new. “

Cuvée Los Gatos

Cuvée Los Gatos is Testarossa’s casual label that pays homage to the town which has been home to our winery since it was built in 1888.  Proprietors Rob and Diana Jensen and Director of Winemaking Bill Brosseau hand-select and combine vineyard lots from highly regarded growing districts for this bottling.  Testarossa currently offers Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Monterey County and Rose of Pinot Noir and Rob’s Red from the Central Coast.

Tasting Notes

“Medium yellow hue. Generous scents of fig, ripe, apple, papaya, orange, and kiwi comprise the aroma profile of this Appellation blend. Flavors of the same nature persist in a full, rich palate with modest acidity. The finish is dense and shows concentration in the absence of new oak. Enjoy now through 2022.”

Tasting Notes

Medium yellow color. Nice aromas of tangerine, tamarind orange, honey, peach, apricot, banana, and vanilla bean unite in this multi-vineyard blend. Upon taste, the aroma profile continues seamlessly, while gaining richness in texture. This wine finishes with a smooth, fresh, hedonistic profile, while there is some underlying minerality that begins to show. Enjoy now through 2024.
