WINEMAKER: Bill Brosseau

Shortly before the 2000 harvest, Testarossa hired Bill Brosseau as our enologist. He was quickly promoted to Winemaker. He graduated from UC Davis in June 2000, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Viticulture and Enology. During that time Bill also completed the OIV's (Organisation Internationale du Vin) Intensive Wine Marketing course.

Bill has been involved in winemaking and viticulture for a number of years. Before coming to Testarossa, Bill worked as the Lab Director for Pine Ridge Winery in the Napa Valley. Prior to Pine Ridge, he worked for two years in the cellars of the Chalone Vineyard, learning about Burgundian winemaking techniques.

Bill gained extensive viticultural experience managing his family's estate vineyard, the Brosseau Vineyard. He feels this is "one of [his] great contributions to Testarossa, as we source fruit from different areas. Being able to understand our individual vineyards is vital if we want to maintain a competitive edge."

When Bill is not working with grapes and wine, he can be found spending time with his wife, Kilene as well as the newest addition to the Brosseau family, Bill’s son Brody.

ASSISTANT WINEMAKER: Adam Comartin

Adam started to appreciate wine during a backpacking trip through Europe as a teenager. A sense of place, culture, and history started to become evident in wines from various regions and that is all it took for Adam to get hooked into the industry!

Adam returned to California and attended the University of California at Davis. After graduating from the Davis Viticulture and Enology program in 2004, he came to Testarossa for a winemaking internship. After the internship, Adam took the opportunity to travel once again, this time to New Zealand and Australia experiencing many of the New World wine regions. When living in Adelaide, Australia, outside the Barossa Valley, he worked at The National Wine Center of Australia.

In the summer of 2005, Adam returned to the winemaking team at Testarossa as the Enologist and in 2006, he was promoted to Assistant Winemaker. Outside the winery, Adam spends time with his fiancée, Jennifer, often cooking in the kitchen for friends and family.
