Testarossa Harvest Experience
Saturdays, Sep 9 to Oct 21, from 10 am to 1:30 pm
Every Saturday from September 9th to October 21st, you can join us for a hands on look into the behind the scenes work our production team performs to process fruit and make our wonderful wine. Activities will include fruit sorting, punch downs (mixing the skins and juice in tank or bin), battonage (stirring the lees in Chardonnay barrels) and tasting directly from barrel/tank. The day will end with a family style lunch prepared by the Testarossa Culinary team, and of course, delicious wine.
All participants will also receive an exclusive Testarossa Harvest Crew T-Shirt!

Testarossa University - Wine Basics

Wine should be fun and enjoyable, not intimidating. Learn the basics of swirling, smelling, tasting, and describing wine. We’ll also learn about how wine is made, and where do all of those wonderful aromas and flavors come from. Reservations needed
Testarossa University - Burgundy versus California Pinot Noir

The historic home of fine Pinot Noir is the Burgundy region of France, but it has been challenged in recent decades by Pinot Noir from California. Pinot Noir, and its delicate nature, is the ideal grape to compare regional differences – Old World versus New World. Testarossa University - Demystifying Blind Tasting

Learn how sommeliers use the deductive tasting method to identify wines based on sight, aroma and flavor alone. Far from a mystical secret procedure, these techniques can be used by wine lovers of any level of experience to increase their blind tasting skill, as well as improving the ability to discern structure, aromatic and flavor components of wine. We will also help map these basic guidelines onto the major wine styles of the world, including, of course, California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Led by Ryan Smith, Certified Sommelier and DTC manager, and Bob Zamora, Testarossa Winery Educator. (SOLD OUT)
Testarossa University - Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation

Learn about Americas’ first elevation based appellation. The Santa Cruz Mountains has played an important role in the history of winemaking in California, with roots going back to the mid-1800’s, with legendary winemakers such as Paul Masson, and Martin Ray.Recognized as an AVA in 1981, the Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation was among the first to be defined by its mountain topography. We will take a virtual tour from the north, near Woodside, to Corralitos in the south. Reservation needed.
Farm to Table Dinner 2017
Carmel Valley Ranch - Carmel Valley, CA
Friday, November 3 - 4 pm to 9 pm
Community leaders from across the Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties will gather at the 2017 Farm to Table Dinner. Attendees will celebrate the local impact of the American Red Cross of the Central Coast while enjoying the finest offerings from local farms and wineries in a beautiful outdoor setting. The festivities will kick off in the early evening with live music and a tasting reception featuring area wineries, breweries, and distilleries. Following the reception, Chef Tim Wood of Carmel Valley Ranch, Chef Todd Fisher of Folktale Winery, and Chef Fabrice Roux of Roux will prepare and serve a unique, multi-course, family-style dinner complete with expertly selected wine pairings. This delicious event will be held at the scenic Carmel Valley Ranch. Proceeds will benefit the Red Cross’ local programs and services to prevent and alleviate human suffering during emergencies. Testarossa University - The Science behind Wine

Science is not only for nerds. Our Production Team's Technical Director Bill Snyder and Wine Educator Bob Zamora will help you understand some of the science behind wines and winemaking. We will also taste some cellar experiments and learn about the chemistry behind wine, such as how sugar and acid effect wine. Reservation needed.
Testarossa University - California Appellation Tour

Let’s take a virtual tour and compare the 6 different appellations that make up Testarossa's single vineyard wines. With wine in our glasses we’ll “visit” the Russian River, Santa Lucia Highlands, Chalone, Arroyo Grande Valley, Santa Maria Valley, and south to Sta. Rita Hills. We will discuss the unique climates, soils, and marine influences that make these regions so special. Reservation needed.
Artisan Wine & Cheese Experience
Wednesday through Sunday at 1 pm
Expertly guided tour through the historic cellars of Testarossa. Learn about the winemaking process and the Jensen Family history. Enjoy a private, salon-style tasting of five Testarossa wines paired to four selections of artisan cheeses.
