Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation

Wednesday, November 1 2017

Learn about Americas’ first elevation based appellation.  The Santa Cruz Mountains has played an important role in the history of winemaking in California, with roots going back to the mid-1800’s, with legendary winemakers such as Paul Masson, and Martin Ray.

Recognized as an AVA in 1981, the Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation was among the first to be defined by its mountain topography. We will take a virtual tour from the north, near Woodside, to Corralitos in the south.
