Quintessentially California is the best way to describe wines from the Santa Maria Valley. Rich, forward, luscious, hedonistic yet impeccably balanced are all traits to describe Santa Maria Valley wines. The region, along with it's slightly warmer sibling valley to the south, the Santa Ynez Valley, are the only two major east-west facing valleys along the west coast of the United States. Even though these two valleys are the southern most ultra-premium grape growing appellations in the United States, they are ironically home to cool climate loving Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varietals. Testarossa has been making fine wines from Santa Maria Valley grapes since 1995.
