Harvest 2007 New Releases
2005 Diana’s Reserve Chardonnay, 297 c ases - 92pts Wine Spectator,
92pts Wine Enthusiast
A cuvée of only the finest Chardonnay barrels in our cellars
Like this wine’s namesake, winery founder Diana Jensen, there is everything to love about our 2005 Diana’s Reserve Chardonnay. Only a handful of our silkiest textured, most lush fruit and complex barrels are hand selected and painstakingly married to create this very limited edition Chardonnay bottling. Our Diana’s Reserve Chardonnay is made to cellar, but tastes so good when young that few people ever get to experience a bottle that is more than two or three years old because they just can’t wait that long to pop the cork.
$55 per bottle ($44 per bottle for club members)
2006 Castello Chardonnay, 4638 cases - not yet reviewed
Central Coast (multi-vineyard blend from the Bien Nacido, Sanford & Benedict, Brosseau, Rosella’s, Sleepy Hollow and La Cruz Vineyards)
The 2006 vintage marks our 8th vintage of Castello being our most popular Chardonnay at Testarossa. Considering the list of world class vineyards that go into Castello each year, it is no surprise that this wine has countless layers of complexity, yet retains the signature richness that fans of our wines have come to love in Castello. Also, for those wine lovers who have an extra fondness for freshness or want a smaller bottle of white to share while cooking, we’ve added a new twist in 2006. For the first time ever our Castello half bottles (375ml) are now being bottled with a screw-cap!
$30 per bottle ($24 per bottle for club members)
2005 La Cruz Vineyard Chardonnay, 135 cases - 93pts Wine Enthusiast,
90pts Wine & Spirits
Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County
The La Cruz Vineyard, owned by the Keller Estate winery, is quickly becoming a top cellar favorite here at Testarossa. The Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah vines from these cool rolling hills in Sonoma produce amazingly consistent, high quality fruit from all three varietals. It also gives us great confidence to know that long time Testarossa friend and also the winemaker at Keller Estate, Michael McNeil, is largely responsible for the high quality fruit coming from this vineyard each year. As you can see from the great reviews, the critics also are starting to find out about the superlative quality coming out of the La Cruz Vineyard!
$39 per bottle ($31.20 per bottle for club members)
2005 Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Chardonnay, 396 cases - 93pts Wine & Spirits -Top Chardonnays of the Year, 90pts Connoisseurs' Guide
Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara County
The 2005 Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Chardonnay is our most complex ever from this hallowed grand-daddy vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills appellation of Santa Barbara County. The 2005 vintage gave us the extraction, richness and vibrant fruit that connoisseurs have come to love from the Santa Rita Hills, but this wine also has an extra expressive layer of minerality from the shaley clay-loam soils of this vineyard. Wow!

Pinot Noir
2005 Cuvée Niclaire Pinot Noir, 195 cases - 92pts Wine Enthusiast
A cuvée of only the finest Pinot Noir barrels in our cellars
Our Cuvée Niclaire Pinot Noir is named after Nick and Claire Jensen, the children of our winery’s founders. Like the Diana’s Reserve Chardonnay, this is our top of the line Pinot Noir which is a result of hundreds of hours of barrel tastings and blending trails. The 2005 Cuvée Niclaire, like all of our Cuvée Niclaires, is made for medium term aging and will truly blossom with four to five years of cellar age. Silky textures, balanced rich fruit and layers of minerality make our Cuvée Niclaire something truly unique.
$75 per bottle ($60 per bottle for club members)
2005 Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Pinot Noir, 558 cases – 93pts Wine Enthusiast,
92pts Wine Spectator
Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara County
The Santa Rita Hills’ growing notoriety for fantastic Pinot Noir is not a flash in the pan. Great Pinot Noir has been grown in these rolling hills for nearly forty years, with the first great Pinot Noir vineyard in the area being the Sanford & Benedict Vineyard planted in 1971. The well drained, cool rolling hills and old vines make some of the most unique Pinot Noir in our cellars, with the 2005 Sanford & Benedict being a particularly great example of what this vineyard can produce.

2005 Fritschen Vineyard Pinot Noir, 208 cases – not yet rated
Russian River Valley, Sonoma County
This tiny 3 acre estate right off of East Side Road in the Russian River Valley has quickly developed a cult following amongst Testarossa Pinot Noir fans. The unmistakable Russian River Valley masculine terroir comes through from this very steep hillside vineyard. The vines are naturally low yielding and are planted on slopes so steep that the vineyard is mostly hand farmed. This of course gives extra attention to each vine and each grape cluster. This is one of our most age worthy Pinots each year and 2005 is no exception.

2005 La Cruz Vineyard Pinot Noir, 600 cases – not yet rated
Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County
In 1998, Arturo Keller and his daughter Ana, planted the rolling hills that now make up the La Cruz Vineyard. Decades of clonal research were done when the selections were made as to which Pinot Noir clones would do best at this site. The three most prominent Pinot Noir clones that marry together to create layers of flavor to Testarossa’s La Cruz Vineyard are Dijon 667, Dijon 777 and Pommard. La Cruz, is Spanish for “The Cross,” which is a name given to the vineyard because of the ornate 15th Century Spanish Cross that stands tall on the hill at the center of the vineyard.
