APPELLATION: Sonoma Coast
The Sonoma Coast literally surrounds the Russian River Valley on all sides, and has quickly become another one of the crown jewels of California's great Pinot Noir Appellations. It is a much larger appellation which encompasses a variety of micro-climates. The flavor profiles of the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley have more similarities than differences, though the Pinot Noirs from this larger region trend towards being more masculine than their Russian River Valley brothers. The Sonoma Coast is equally well regarded for its Chardonnay and Syrah as it is for Pinot Noir. Testarossa released its first Sonoma Coast designated wine in 2004.
