APPELLATION: Santa Rita Hills
Following in the footsteps of the quality explosion of Monterey County's Santa Lucia Highlands, the Santa Rita Hills burst on to the ultra quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay scene at the onset of the 21st century. The Santa Rita Hills is actually a sub-appellation of the Santa Ynez Valley and is located in the western, cooler, end of the valley. Once simply known as the western end of the Santa Ynez Valley, the Santa Rita Hills has become synonymous with rich, fruit driven, deep California Pinot Noir. Testarossa has been making Santa Rita Hills wines since 1999.
