Niclaire Pinot Noir and Diana’s Chardonay: Special California wines from a grateful California Family
by Rob Jensen, Proprietor

People often ask me which Testarossa wine is my favorite and I always give the same answer, our Niclaire Pinot Noir. Our Niclaire Pinot Noir is named after our two children, sixteen year old Nick and thirteen your old Claire. Our Diana’s Chardonnay is named for Testarossa Co-Founder, business partner, my wife of 21 years and my best friend, Diana Jensen. Both of these wines proudly carry a “California” appellation, which has many meanings for us.  Diana and I are both very thankful to be native Californians, as are Nick and Claire.  Our families are from key parts of the golden state. Diana was born in Northern California, as was her mother, but she grew up in beautiful San Diego. My father also grew up in Southern California which we visited frequently as kids, however I was raised in Santa Clara County.

California is such a rich and diverse place to live. It offers great treasures from the Pacific Ocean to the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. In the past year alone, my family and I have visited 2,500 year old Redwoods in Humbolt County (not far from the 14,000 foot shadow of Mount Shasta), Yosemite National Park, San Diego’s glorious bay and beaches, Carmel, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento.

Why am I talking about all these rich and diverse California landmarks? I feel that there are clear parallels between these landmarks and our our finest, limited production wines. The State of California is composed of many diverse and majestic places, people and cultures that add up to one great experience called California. Our Niclaire Pinot Noir and Diana’s Chardonnay are crafted from many different and unique California vineyards across the state, each of which gives a unique characteristic to our best wines. These wines are the pinnacle of what Testarossa has to offer. We tirelessly strive to find the best barrels in the cellar. Only a handful of barrels make the cut and invariably the selected barrels comprise unique flavors showcasing their origins in Santa Barbara County, Monterey County or Sonoma County.

To fully enjoy California, you need to experience many places, people, and cultures. Like California, in order to truly experience Testarossa, you must enjoy our Niclaire Pinot Noir and Diana's Chardonnay, particularly the fabulous 2007 vintage!
