2016 Rosemary's Vineyard Chardonnay

Owned by the Talley Family, who have farmed Southern San Luis Obispo County for three generations, the Rosemary's Vineyard dates back to 1982. Planted just 8 miles Northeast of the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard has soils that are reminiscent of Burgundy, in particularly the Côte de Nuits with its steep terrain, infusion of weathered rocks, and well drained soils. Working closely with the Talley Family, Testarossa owners, Rob and Diana Jensen, and Director of Winemaking Bill Brosseau, have created this very exceptional Chardonnay with classic old world flavors.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw color. Beautiful scents of pineapple, caramel, ripe kiwi, and banana. With some aeration, notes of ripe fig, papaya, and apricot complete the aroma profile of this wine. The flavors are consistent and show great vitality. With vibrant acidity, great depth, and purity, this inaugural release from Rosemary’s Vineyard is a wine not to miss. The finish is intricate, youthful, and hedonistic. Enjoy now through 2026.

Accolades:

93 Points / Antonio Galloni's Vinous

Limpid yellow-gold. Ripe pear, lemon gelato, vanilla and smoky minerals on the deeply perfumed nose, along with hints of honeysuckle and toasty lees that build with aeration. Supple and impressively concentrated, offering expansive citrus and orchard fruit flavors that are complemented by brioche and honey flourishes. The floral note repeats emphatically on the impressively long, supple finish, which is energized by a jolt of zesty acidity. Read more
