2015 Tondre Grapefield Pinot Noir

Originally planted in 1997, the Tondre Grapefield is growing in popularity and recognition as well. Testarossa Winery has been making Tondre Grapefield Pinot Noir since 2012 and 2014 was the first vintage for Testarossa’s Tondre Grapefield Chardonnay. Tondre is located directly in the center of the Santa Lucia Highlands just to the south of Soberanes and Garys’ Vineyards. Joe Alarid and his team hand-care for each vine where they have multiple clones planted within the 80 acres of Pinot Noir and 21 acres of Chardonnay.

Tasting Notes

"Deep, dark red hue. Scents of pomegranate, cranberry, red cherry and papaya lead the nose and are followed by elements of cloves, jasmine, and orange. As the wine rests on the palate, notes of orange, cherry, and cranberry persist. This Pinot Noir is a crowd-pleaser with its silky smooth and expansive tannins, yet will pair nicely with food due to its vibrant acidity. The wine ends with a bright, fresh, yet delicate finish. Enjoy now  through 2025."
