Owned by the Talley Family, who have farmed Southern San Luis Obispo County for three generations, the Rincon Vineyard dates back to 1982. Planted just 8 miles Northeast of the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard has soils that are reminiscent of Burgundy, in particularly the Côte de Nuits with its steep terrain. Working closely with the Talley Family, Testarossa owners, Rob and Diana Jensen, and Director of Winemaking Bill Brosseau, have created this very exceptional Chardonnay with classic old world flavors.
"Deep yellow hue. Exotic scents of passionfruit, mango, papaya, and mandarin orange leap out of the glass. Upon further aeration, underlying notes of molasses, ripe fig, lemon meringue, and banana showcase the concentrated nature of the fruit. As these characters segue into the palate, notes of mango, molasses, and ripe fig persist. These old vines produce silky, oily, unctuous wines capable of pleasing the most particular taster. The rich mouthfeel is also very indicative of the rich clay soils, leading to a lengthy and pleasure-laden finish. Enjoy now through 2024."
