This bottling marks the first varietal Cabernet Sauvignon release from Testarossa since the 1993 vintage!
Located on the inland side of the coastal Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation, Black Ridge Vineyards produces Testarossa’s Bordeaux varietals consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot. We also produce a well-balanced Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay from the local vineyard located just off Black Road across from the Lexington Reservoir. This historic vineyard is ideally situated to avoid the harsh coastal winds and fog that cover the majority of the appellation. The vineyard was originally planted in the mid 19th century, but replaced by prune trees during Prohibition and then a Christmas tree farm. In 1999, it was returned to its original roots with grapevines.
Testarossa Director of Winemaking Bill Brosseau oversees the management of the vineyard working closely with the vineyard staff that take great care in hand manicuring this one of a kind vineyard. Brosseau takes great pride in producing Testarossa’s first vintage of Black Ridge Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, it is the first vintage of this varietal under the Testarossa label since the very first wine Rob Jensen made back in 1993.

"Dark red inky color. Intense scents of cocoa, sage, boysenberry, and blackberry. Upon aeration, notes of minerality, ripe cherry, and ripe cranberry round out the nose. These characters continue seamlessly into the palate and build in intensity. The big, juicy tannins and vibrant acidity bring this Cabernet the best of all worlds of being big and fresh at the same time. The intricate, sophisticated, and lengthy finish give way to a long lifespan for this distinctive wine. Enjoy now through 2032."
