Cuvee Los Gatos is a special wine made by Testarossa Winery to pay homage to the town of Los Gatos, where the historic winery was built in 1888 and continues to produce wine today.
Working closely with top growers around the state, Testarossa Winery has produced this limited release, supple and approachable Pinot Noir. The grapes were sourced from Monterey County. In particular, a majority of the fruit came from vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation - one of the state’s best known regions for world-class Pinot Noir. The Highlands' close proximity to Monterey Bay makes for a very cool climate, with one of California’s longest growing seasons. The resulting slow, gentle ripening allows for full flavor development on the vine. Testarossa’s partnership with the top vineyards in the SLH insure only the highest quality fruit makes it to the winery.
"Medium red hue. Intense aromas of pomegranate, cranberry, and chokecherry overtake the nose of this youthful Pinot Noir. Showing vibrant flavors of pomegranate, cranberry, chokecherry, there are some citrus notes that linger in the flavor profile. The texture of this wine is quite pleasing with silky and polished tannins. The careful use of French oak is subtle and pleasing to the sophisticated palate while the acidity is brisk and refreshing. Enjoy this youthful wine for many occasions to come in the next 5-7 years."
