Howard and Linda Graham have been strong supporters of Testarossa since 1994. After Howard retired from high tech in 2000, he worked the entire harvest with Testarossa. A Russian River Valley Pinot Noir vineyard was his next dream. After a year of searching we found a ten-acre knoll-top site in Green Valley with even exposure and Gold Ridge soils. Five Pinot Noir clones were selected and the vineyard was planted in 2002.
The 2012 growing season experienced ideal weather for Pinot Noir. There were no unusual weather experiences with few extremes in temperatures, sunny days and cool breezy nights. The 2012 was quite a bountiful harvest through out California and the Russian River Valley was no exception.
"Medium dark color. Cinnamon, papaya, bing cherry, and orange blossom make for a very unique bouquet in this wine. After some swirling, flavors of bing cherry, orange, and cranberry lead this Pinot Noir into a plush mouth-feel. Vibrant acidity is tamed by richness from the limitation of grape yield on the vine. The tannins are quite silky where they flow back and forth on the palate as the finish of this wine goes on and on. Drink now through 2021. "
